The organizer describes the Bay Area as "the hotbed of clinical research in the US" and the summit as bringing together a significant share of the region's trial sponsors. COG is the Clinical Outsourcing Group, run by the Pharmaceutical Business Conference Group, and this event is a 2026 rebrand of COG Bay Area aimed specifically at small and mid-sized sponsors.
The format is what shapes it: The organizer publishes a two to one or better audience-to-sponsor ratio and frames the event around "meaningful conversations" rather than a large exhibition floor, across two days under one roof with networking breaks and an evening drinks reception.
Six content threads for 2026: Published content highlights are operational excellence for small and emerging biotech, strategic outsourcing and CRO selection, patient centricity and recruitment success, technology, innovation and AI, site selection, collaboration and activation, and strategic pipeline management and financial planning.
Complimentary passes for trial sponsors: Delegate passes are complimentary for qualifying trial sponsors. The organizer states that complimentary passes are exclusively for pharma, biotech and medical device companies who are trial sponsors, and that a pass is not confirmed until the confirmation email arrives.

Fees & registration
The organizer does not publish a rate card. What is published is the eligibility rule and what a pass includes. Delegate passes are complimentary for qualifying trial sponsors. Service and solution provider rates are not published and are handled through the organizer's contact route. All attendance levels include access to the full conference programme across both days, networking breaks and the evening drinks reception. Registration and current terms are on the official registration page.
The organizer states that complimentary delegate passes are exclusively for pharma, biotech and medical device companies who are trial sponsors, and not for those offering a service or solution of any kind.
A pass is not confirmed until the confirmation email arrives, and the organizer advises against booking travel or accommodation before that point.
The organizer's attendee terms state that non-attendance or cancellation activates a $150 cancellation fee, applied at its discretion. Sending a replacement delegate avoids the charge.
Venue & travel
The organizer publishes the hotel name, city and state but not a street address, and no room block, negotiated rate or booking link is published for this event. The organizer asks attendees not to book travel or accommodation until a pass is confirmed by email.
Burlingame sits beside San Francisco International, which makes this an easy one to fly in and out of on the same day either side.
